Sonia Siaw - Administrative CoordinatorSonia Siaw was born and raised in Malaysia. She moved to the United States and attended the Unitversity of Houston in Texas where she obtained a professional degree in architecture and graduated with honors. Sonia moved to New York City to pursue a career in architecture and is currently a freelance architect. She has many interests in the performing arts and is currently active in a non-profit play production group in Manhattan. She is fluent in several languages including Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay. Sonia has been working as an administrator for Chrystie Street Ballet since October 2010, and is available throughout the week to answer any of your questions!
Patricia Weiss - Ballet InstructorA native of Munich, Germany, Patricia Weiss trained at the Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance. Upon graduation, Patricia continued her studies at The Ailey School in New York City. In 2004 she returned for an apprenticeship under Philip Taylor with the Ballet Theater Munich. Patricia has performed with and choreographed for various companies in Europe and the United States. In 2008, she became artistic director of VQ Dance Productions, Inc. She choreographed the western premiere of Alcide al bivio at Columbia University, and has recently been collaborating with visual artist Annegret Hoch on “Continuing…” a work merging dance with architectural painting.
Patricia began her teaching career at Ballet Tech under the artistic direction of Eliot Feld. She has taught the Teen Ballet Series at the Ailey Extension, the open dance program of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, since its inception in 2007. Patricia joined Chrystie Street Ballet Academy in February 2009.
Nicole Cornell - Ballet InstructorNicole Cornell is a graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts and received her BS in music/ballet from Indiana University. Nicole's ballet training began with such companies as Central Pennyslvania Youth Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Lines Ballet. She has also had the opportunity to dance in numerous works from the Balanchine repertory including Serenade, Who Cares?, and Western Symphony.
Miss Cornell's performing career took her abroad to dance for Cunard Cruise Lines throughout Africa, Europe, and South and Central America, and then onto the stage of the Lido in Paris. As an educator, she has taught ballet in Colorado, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and New York. She has worked with Elliot Feld's Ballet Tech, Hinton Battle Theatre Laboratory, The Manhattan Ballet School, and Brooklyn Ballet. Nicole joined Chrystie Street Ballet Academy in the Fall of 2010 and is currently employed at New York City Ballet as the Coordinator for The George Balanchine Trust.
Binh Vinh Luu - Administrative ConsultantOriginally from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Binh Vinh Luu grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she received her BA in East Asian Studies. Binh continued her higher education at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, earning her Masters degree in International Relations. She is fluent in several languages including Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese. Binh has proudly collaborated with Chrystie Street Ballet since it opened in 2006.
